Eurocham Energy Working Group held a regular monthly meeting on March 27, 2018, on different day than the usual schedule to adjust with the external speaker’s availability.

Was speaking about the latest update of Renewable Bill progress, Mr. Parlindungan Purba, Chairman Committee II at DPD-RI (Regional Representative of the Parliament), who lead the process of drafting the bill. Mr. Purba explains that the bill introduces two new items in the draft: Renewable energy portfolio standard that will provide a push to the development by IPPs; and Renewable energy fund that will provide the financing needed for renewable development.

The full draft of the bill has been submitted to the House for further harmonization, and aim to have it ratified by 2019.

EuroCham Pharma & Medtech Working Group held the bi-monthly meeting on March 26, 2018 to discuss relevant policy update for the group activities as well as discussed about the renewal of working group leadership.

The policy discussion revolves around regulation on BPOM’s five year strategic planning, Presidential Regulation on five years National Industry Policy, and the recent development of acceleration development for Medical Devices. Also discussed were the recurring issues on National Health Coverage (JKN), Halal Law implementation, and local component (TKDN).

As for the renewal of working group leadership, the meeting participant agrees to conduct election differently this year. To attract more participation and promote inclusiveness amongst the group, the call for working group candidate as well as the election, will be done through email, and aim to have the result latest by April 16, 2018.
