New Cargo Manifest Regulation
On 14 March 2018, the Transport and Logistics Working Group with the Indonesia Logistics and Forwarder Association (ALFI) organized a joint assessment with other cargo industry’s players on Minister of Finance Regulation No. 159/PMK.04/2017 on the Delivery of Inward Notices, Inward Manifests and Outward Manifests.
Few airlines and ground handling agent were invited to share expertise and technical knowledge regarding the current inward cargo manifest procedures, particularly in the airfreight side. The aim is to jointly formulate recommendations to improve current procedures and prevent potential delays due to redress issues, which apparently can be caused due to the use of different electronic systems by all parties involved such as airlines as the carrier, ground handling agent, Customs, and the forwarders.
FGD on Energy Conservation Policy: China and India Cases
Ministry of ESDM invited Eurocham to participate at the Focus Group Discussion for Revision of PP 70/2009 on energy conservation. The FGD was led by World Bank and provide two best-practices sharing from energy conservation effort held by China and India. China showed the energy conservation was conducted in more restrictive by the government, with target stipulated by central government to each regional and industrial sector, to be achieved within specific timelines. While India showed how energy conservation had been conducted in more lenient way, business driven, and market transformation.
Both cases were used as the study reference for PP 70/2009 revisions, which is currently still under development. There will be another discussion on the revision and also further consultation with business sectors.
