On 12 April 2018, the EuroCham Transport and Logistics Working Group elected the new Head of Working Group, Mr. Yigit Saricinar (DB Schenker), which previously served as the Deputy Head. As with this election, the position of Deputy Head is still vacant pending upcoming election. This meeting also coordinates ongoing efforts conducted, including on the implementation of the new cargo manifest regulation, revision of Procedures for Granting Preferential Tariff under FTA scheme, and proposals on VAT and withholding tax in the freight forwarding services.

EuroCham once again play the role as supporting partner for the Economist’s Indonesia Summit 2018, held on 5 April 2018 in Jakarta. The summit explored on how the government can encourage Indonesia’s innovation economy, assess how the private sector can contribute to the growth of the country as a whole, and explore ways to bring these two sides together.

Presenting high profile speakers from government officials, start-up unicorn, and business players, the forum highlights that technology, human development, as well as the importance of suitable role of regulations could further enhance the country’s economic potential. The breakout session after lunch bring two big themes for discussion: renewable energy and water infrastructure.
