EuroCham Pharma & Medtech Working Group held the bi-monthly meeting on March 26, 2018 to discuss relevant policy update for the group activities as well as discussed about the renewal of working group leadership.

The policy discussion revolves around regulation on BPOM’s five year strategic planning, Presidential Regulation on five years National Industry Policy, and the recent development of acceleration development for Medical Devices. Also discussed were the recurring issues on National Health Coverage (JKN), Halal Law implementation, and local component (TKDN).

As for the renewal of working group leadership, the meeting participant agrees to conduct election differently this year. To attract more participation and promote inclusiveness amongst the group, the call for working group candidate as well as the election, will be done through email, and aim to have the result latest by April 16, 2018.

On 26 March 2018 a coordination meeting was held between EuroCham and ALFI to discuss joint proposals regarding VAT in International Freight Forwarding Services. Prior the meeting EuroCham has presented these proposals to the Fiscal Policy Agency, Directorate General of Tax, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and Government’s Working Group IV during a meeting on 16 March 2018 at Ministry of Finance’s Office. During this meeting EuroCham secretariat also mentioned the updates on status of another joint proposals by EuroCham-ALFI-ASPERINDO on Income Tax for International Freight Forwarding Services.
