EuroCham’s Chemical Working Group held its regular meeting virtually on 1 February. The meeting discussed policy updates relevant to the chemical sector including updates on Indonesian National Standard, halal certification, import policy and provisions under Government Regulation No. 28 of 2021, and the implementation of commodity balance under Presidential Regulation No. 32 of 2022, as well as the annual position paper for the working group.

The meeting was chaired by Erike Yanidia, Head of the Working Group & Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance Manager at Merck, and was attended by members of the Chemical Working Group and the EuroCham Secretariat.

EuroCham was invited to an exclusive closed roundtable discussion titled “Policy Approached in Internet Connectivity Infrastructure: Indonesia as the Future Digital Hub in Asia Pacific” held by the Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) on January 31. This discussion was commenced by a presentation Ahmad Ludfy, Chairman of the Indonesian Sea Cable Communication System Association (ASKALSI) by highlighting the opportunities of having a co-regulation on digital economy opportunity along with the submarine cable between the regulatory authorities and private sector.
