The Sustainable Development Working Group recently held its first offline meeting this year at the EuroCham Office on 17 May.

The meeting was led by the Deputy Head of the Working Group Nuni Sutyoko (Head of Corporate Sustainability of HSBC Indonesia). The group was delighted to invite Gregor van Essen (The Water Agency) to give an in-depth insight on valuing water for businesses and to build awareness on water issues among private sectors. The meeting was a success and the discussion among the participants was very productive.

We would like to thank the participants who attended and actively contributed to the meeting.

EuroCham was cordially invited to the ARISE+ Indonesia Programme Results Dissemination entitled, “Enhancing Indonesian Institutional Technical Competencies” on May 17, 2023 at Hotel Kempinski. This is a technical aid programme supported by the European Union in cooperation with the Indonesian government to develop comprehensive trade policies aligned with international standards and best practices.

This event commenced with a keynote speech by Minister Suharso Monoarfa, Indonesia’s Minister of National Development Planning, followed by remarks from Ambassador Vincent Piket, EU Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei, and Minister Jerry Sambuaga, Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Trade. Ambassador Piket reiterated his contentment with the first phase's results and hoped that the second phase can focus on exporting Indonesian goods to the Eurozone. After a panel discussion, the event was concluded with closing remarks and a networking session.
