Commercial Approach to Anti-Corruption in Indonesia

On the 2nd of October, EuroCham was invited to attend the workshop organized by ICC Indonesia, UN Global Compact Network Indonesia (IGCN), and PPM Manajemen. The workshop revolves around the theme of the Commercial Approach to Anti-Corruption in Indonesia. The event commenced with opening remarks from Bryan David Emil Tilaar (Executive Board of Director Treasury Division at the PPM Manajemen Foundation) and Noke Kiroyan (Chairman of ICC Indonesia and Chair of the Anti-corruption & Corporate Responsibility Commission).

The event then commenced with a Survey Finding on Corporate Governance Practice by Eva Phasa Purpadita (Head of Soedarpo Sastrosatomo Center for Ethical and Cultural Organization (PEBOSS)) and remarks from the guest speaker, Dr. Maximilian Burger-Scheidlin (Senior Director of ICC Austria).

A panel discussion followed that featured Dr. Burger-Scheidlin, Ria Pardede Sidabutar (Taskforce, Koalisi Anti Korupsi Indonesia (KAKI)), Massimo Geloso Grosso (Head of OECD - OCDE Jakarta Office), Verlyana (Veve) Hitipeuw (CEO & Chief Consultant at Kiroyan Partners) and Natalia Soebagjo (Co-Chair of Anti-corruption & Corporate Responsibility Commission, ICC Indonesia) as the moderator.

EU-ASEAN Businesses on Green Investment and the Implementation of the Global Gateway Strategy in ASEAN

EuroCham was cordially invited to the EU-ASEAN Businesses on Green Investments and the Implementation of the Global Gateway Strategy in ASEAN, hosted by the European Union to ASEAN on October 1. The event began with welcome remarks delivered by H.E. Sujiro Seam, in his capacity as the EU Delegation Ambassador to ASEAN, followed by a panel discussion by distinguished panelists, Sunita Lukkhoo (Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for Southeast Asia and Pacific), Chris Humphrey (Executive Director of the EU-ASEAN Business Council), Thomas Thomas (Co-Convenor of the ACEBA), and Lim Chze Cheen (Director of the ASEAN Connectivity Division) which was moderated by Thibaut Portevin (Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Indonesia).

During this session, the panelists highlighted the Global Gateway strategy to foster such as digitalization, energy, transportation, health, as well as education research. The European Union is also committed to bolstering quality and sustainable investments in Indonesia with support from the European Investment Bank.
