Policy Meeting with KPPI of the Ministry of Trade
On the 19th of January, EuroCham members from the Retail Sub-Working Group, as a part of the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) Working Group, had its first policy meeting this year with the Head of the Indonesian Safeguards Committee (KPPI) Kementerian Perdagangan Republik Indonesia, Ibu Franciska Simanjuntak and the Vice Head, Ibu Amesta Yisca Putri, at the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia office.
The policy meeting was led by Suryamin Halim (Deputy of the FMCG Working Group and Head of the Retail Sub-Working group, as well as the Corporate Affairs Manager at H&M Indonesia), and attended by Anya Sapphira of H&M Indonesia, Handaka Santosa of PT. Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk, Muliani Wiabdi of Masari Group, Alfanti Larasati of IKEA Indonesia, and Achmad Reisnovel of Decathlon Indonesia. The meeting discussed policy updates revolving around the retail sector, particularly safeguard measures, which are one of the priority advocacy issues in the industry.

Discussion and Brainstorming on Regulatory Needs in the Field of Traditional Medicines, Quasi-Medicines, Health Supplements and Cosmetics
EuroCham was invited to participate in a brainstorming session hosted by the BPOM (Directorate of Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics) on 18th January 2024.
The purpose of the brainstorming session is to share the plan on developing regulation in 2024 and to receive inputs and aspirations from stakeholders and business actors regarding the drafting process. Attendees included academics, relevant ministries/institutions, UPT BPOM officers from throughout Indonesia, business actors and associations in the sector of traditional medicine, health supplements, and cosmetics, as well as academics.
