Launch of the Attraction Plan for EU Investment in Indonesia

On the 25th of April, EuroCham Indonesia was invited by the Ministry of Investment / Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in partnership with ARISE+ Indonesia Trade Support Facility to the launch event of the Attraction Plan for EU Investment in Indonesia, held at the Nusantara Hall at the Ministry of Investment.
The Attraction Plan aims to synchronize Indonesia's primary competitive advantages and investment opportunities with the requirements and preferences of innovative EU industries and investors. The event detailed the approach, main findings, and suggested action plans of the Attraction Plan for stakeholders to implement in both Indonesia and the EU with the expressed objective to attract a higher level of high-quality European foreign direct investment (FDI), presented by Daniel Nicholls.
The event was opened by Nurul Ichwan (Deputy Minister for Investment Promotion, Ministry of Investment/BKPM) followed by keynote speeches by Laksmi Kusumawati (Director for Trade, Investment and International Economic Cooperation Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Republic of Indonesia) and H.E. Denis Chaibi (European Union Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam).
EuroCham Chairman, Francois de Maricourt was featured in an engaging panel discussion on the theme of Leveraging Partnerships to Mobilize EU Investment into Indonesia, where he highlighted the importance of regulatory certainty as a crucial factor to attract foreign investors. The panel also featured speakers from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Bappenas, BKPM, ARISE+, and EU Delegation.

Socialization of Foreign Halal Certificate Registration System - 25 Apr

EuroCham was invited to join the Socialization of Foreign Halal Certificate Registration System (RSHLN) conducted by the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) on 25th April. The system is intended to register the Halal certification from LHLN that has a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with BPJPH.
The socialization is held to receive inputs from businesses on the system that is currently developed by BPJPH. It is expected that the system could run officially before October 2024 to facilitate businesses that have received Halal Certification from LHLN who have made MRA with BPJPH.
