Invited to the EU-Singapore Dialogue: Facilitating Green and Sustainable Investments in Southeast Asia via the Global Gateway
On Thursday, January 25th, EuroCham Indonesia participated in the "EU-Singapore Dialogue: Facilitating Green and Sustainable Investments in Southeast Asia via the Global Gateway" held at Pan Pacific Singapore. The event was hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce, Singapore (EuroCham Singapore), the EU-ASEAN Business Council, and the EU Delegation to Singapore.
The dialogue commenced with opening remarks by H.E. Iwona Piorko, EU Ambassador to Singapore, and featured keynote speeches by Dr. Kay Parplies, Senior Economist and Head of Unit for External Action Guarantees at DG INTPA (International Partnership). This was followed by engaging panel discussions and a presentation by Sunita Lukkhoo, Head of EIB for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The dialogue underscored the role of the Global Gateway in addressing stability and prosperity in Southeast Asia, emphasizing the crucial involvement of the private sector in scaling up sustainable investments.
Chemical Working Group Leaders Meeting
On January 25, the Chemical Working Group held its first leaders meeting of 2024 to discuss the topic and timeline of the 2024 position papers and action plan of the working group. The meeting also discussed updates on important policies to the group such as import policy and halal certification. The meeting was attended by the Chemical Working Group Head Erike Yanadia (Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance Manager at Merck Indonesia) and Deputy Head Haqiki Aplesiasfika (Senior Product Regulatory Specialist at Dow Indonesia).
