On June 11th, EuroCham was invited to a discussion with the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH)) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia) on Halal Obligations in October 2024. The event was held at the Oakwood Hotel in Jakarta. In collaboration with several importers and industry associations, EuroCham was invited to speak about a range of crucial matters concerning the upcoming implementation deadline for halal certification requirements for goods entering, circulating, and transacted in Indonesia.

EuroCham was represented at the meeting by Uti Daniawati M. (Regulatory Affairs Manager Home Care and Personal Care at Unilever and Head of the FMCG Working Group), Widya Herminingsih (Regulatory Affairs at Kerry) and Suryamin Halim (Financial Controller at PT Hindo (H&M)). On June 5, the EuroCham Chemical Working Group held its regular working group meeting at the EuroCham office.

The meeting was led by Daniel Kandou, Advocacy Officer at EuroCham, and attended by the Head of the Working Group, Erike Yanidia (Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance Manager at Merck Chemicals and Life Sciences), Deputy Head of the Working Group, Haqiki Aplesiasfika (Senior Product Regulatory Specialist at Dow Indonesia), and members of the working group. The working group discussed policy developments within the chemical sector.
